Korean partners visit the Finnish Trial Site

5G-MOBIX trial site leaders have been organising visits between their sites to coordinate activities. Knowledge exchange has already been done between the Chinese and Finnish partners in August 2018 and May 2019 with visits between Aalto University, Institute of Automation Shandong Academy, and Dalian University of Technology in China.

In these visits, the European and Asian trial sites of 5G-MOBIX presented their updated use cases and 5G deployment plans and progresses.

In the last visit in September 2019, Dr. You-Jun Choi, from the Korea Automotive Technology Institute, visited Aalto University in Finland.

In summary, the Finnish trial site will experiment with multi-PLMN and multi-ROC (remote operations centre) configurations for remote driving CCAM applications; in addition, the Korean trial site will utilize mmWave for remote driving and QoS (quality of service). Both trial sites also exchanged their experiences and learnings from recent trials on mmWave for automotive.
