5G-MOBIX talks 5G at the 2021 EuCNC & 6G Summit

Between 8 and 11 June, the 5G-MOBIX project attended the EuCNC & 6G Summit, an event which focuses on all aspects of telecommunications ranging from 5G deployment and mobile IoT to 6G exploration and future communications systems and networks, including experimentation and testbeds, and applications and services.

With the workshop "5G for CCAM for Cross-Border Corridors", co-organised together with 5G-CARMEN and 5GCroCo, and the workshop “From 5G to 6G Automated and Intelligent SecuriTy”, which featured other five EU projects, 5G-MOBIX played an important part as innovation project in the framework of Connected and Automated Driving.

“With the first workshop, we were able to bring together the experiences gained in three different EU projects to discuss the technical challenges, consider solutions and, most importantly, the preliminary results from the ongoing cross-border trials along the European 5G cross-border”, said Konstantinos V. Katsaros (ICCS). “We are confident that this workshop provided participants with the opportunity to consolidate views and understand various barriers and opportunities brought by 5G, for CCAM”, he concluded.

The second workshop addressed the ability of current wireless communication systems not only to progress in the digitalisation of new services (e.g., remote surgery, advanced industrial applications) and communication modes (e.g. gestures, facial expressions and haptics), but also to meet the new requirements for secure, reliable and high-quality digital services.

“These digital services alone are not enough when deployed nationally; this is why 5G-MOBIX realises solutions that allow these services to be used unhindered across borders.”, concluded Coen Bresser (ERTICO), 5G-MOBIX project coordinator.

The recordings of the workshops and the papers will be available soon. In the meantime, make sure to follow 5G-MOBIX on social media!
