The web seminar gives an overview of the achievements of the Tele-operated Driving (ToD) Use Case in the project 5GCroCo. The presentation will cover the motivation for ToD as well as an introduction into the system and developed control/perception concepts. Furthermore, the benefits, ToD gets from 5G, and selected user stories will be presented. Finally, a main focus will be the presentation of achievements from the 5G trials in the border area between France, Germany and Luxembourg. All interested persons are welcome to join this presentation.
Speaker: Andreas Schimpe is currently pursuing his PhD at the Institute of Automotive Technology at the Technical University of Munich. His main research areas are within the fields of road vehicle teleoperation and shared control. Andreas Pfadler is a 5G communication expert and function developer for automated driving at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. He is pursuing the Ph.D. degree in vehicular communications with the Technical University of Berlin. Luca Montero Bayo is also pursuing his PhD at the Volkswagen Group, together with the Technical University of Catalonia. His research is focused on the impact of 5G and V2X on the future of automotive, and smart antennas for beyond-5G vehicular communications.
